Sponsors and donors fuel a significant achievement in the fight against poverty
Unbound has reached a major milestone in our 40th year walking with individuals and families on their paths out of poverty. As of Aug. 2, we’ve delivered $2 billion in aid to our programs around the world since our founding.
And it’s all been possible because of the dedicated support of sponsors and donors. That support has meant countless opportunities for the children, youth, elders and families served by Unbound over four decades.
But our work isn’t done. The World Bank estimated that 120 million more people are living in poverty because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time in a generation, the World Bank said, “the quest to end poverty has suffered a setback.”
Unbound has 24,843 children, youth and elders on our waiting list, with an average wait time of 21 months for a sponsor. While the task ahead won’t be easy, we remain committed to doing our part to end poverty — one individual and one family at a time.
